This film is roughly devided into three chapters. Chapter one: remembrances and reflections. Chapter two: moments and extracts. Chapter three: voyage and presence. "Merz. Life is a Remake" is a diary, an essay film, a documentary and a fiction film at the same time. And it is a homage to Kurt Schwitter's Merzbau.
